Therapies above are given by Yunzi

Yunzi Cao

Yunzhi was born in Kunming City in the SW China and has lived in 2 countries: China, UK. Having previously lived in 2 locations in the UK she has finally settled in Sheffield where she has lived for nearly 7 years.

Yunzhi is a committed believer and practitioner of integrated medicine with more than 31 years experience in the medical profession. Despite living through the tough years of Chairman Mao and the cultural revolution in China, she still qualified as a western medicine doctor in China, where she specialised in gynaecology and also practiced traditional Chinese medicine; she later obtained her masters degree in acupuncture from Univ Wales, UK and also achieved an MBA at Liverpool University.

She has used traditional western medicine techniques and traditional Chinese medicine during her time as a gynaecologists for instance using acupuncture in place of anaesthetic and turning breach babies using totally non-invasive techniques.

In the early 1990’s she successfully helped develop and promote a new anti malaria herbal product for pregnant women with malaria. During this time she worked extensively with France, African and Asian countries as well as the World Health Organisation. It was through this contact that she developed her first interests in learning English.

She obtained her first certificate in English after three years using self-study books but had little chance to listen and speak English. Eventually with the agreement from Chinese Government, she moved to England and eventually began MBA study at Liverpool University.

After a short period living in Canada with her son who lives in Vancouver, she returned to UK to work for a Chinese medicine company which provided her with opportunities to gain more experience with English in a medical environment, treating patients using acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for such common ailments such as asthma, skin problems, back pain etc. She then set about getting her acupuncture masters degree from the University of Wales, with her dissertation project using acupuncture to alleviate asthma symptoms.

In 2003 Yunzhi returned to China with her Sheffield born husband to establish a clinic practising both western medicine and Chinese medicine. In addition she established a second business, a small college teaching acupuncture for everyday healthcare and well being.

In 2005 Yunzhi returned to Sheffield to establish her own acupuncture clinic in Hillsborough, Sheffield which practices mainly acupuncture, using herbs to support her treatments for many everyday problems such as pain alleviation, back problems, asthma, low energy related problems etc. She continuously monitors her treatments, to make them more effective, and has a 95% success rate in treating her patients.

In China there is a strong culture of illness prevention and Yunzhi, being passionate about this she has developed her own holistic, personal MOT, a unique style of acupuncture: using monthly acupuncture to support the body and prevent illness, believing prevention is better than cure
